Bulgaria became very attractive destination for holidaymakers and foreigners who are looking to invest in overseas property after the country joined EU on 1st January 2007, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) reported.
The Bulgraria property prices went up by about 30 % in the last year before the country` s EU accession.
DPA reported that homes located near the beach or the ski lifts are very attractive for the foreigners.
One part of them are buying to make a profit by re-selling it.
Others are planning to settle in the country and are buying new home with garden, pool etc. In the mountains there are villages, populated only by Britons. The average price of a house in mountain village is about 50 000 EUR.
In 2006 the number of property deals in
Bulgaria reached 280 000, that means 15 % increase compared to the year before.
